The Bononi Family has been in the grocery business since
the 1920’s. The business was originally started
in the city of St. Louis by Alfred Bononi Sr. It did well
in the city and Alfred Sr.’s son, Alfred (Freddie)
Bononi Jr. opened Freddie’s Market in Webster Groves
in 1969. The son of Alfred Jr. and current owner, Larry
Bononi and his wife Cathy bought Freddie’s Market
in 1988 and are celebrating twenty years of owning and
running Freddie’s Market this month. “The
great success of Freddie’s Market is due to our
customer and personal service,” says owner, Larry
Bononi. Not only is the service fantastic, but the healthy
options make Freddie’s Market a one stop shopping
experience. Larry has made a point to make healthier options
available for his customers. You can find organic and
all natural products in every aisle of the market. The
shelves have “organic” arrows that point out
the organic products. It is so nice to easily find the
organic products integrated with the other products. I
always discover something new at Freddie’s Market.
I have personally stopped in on several occasions to pick
up something from their meat department for dinner and
ended up with a basket full of new organic products to
try. I am always so pleased with the selection and amazing
flavor of the products available. Freddie’s Market
also offers a large variety of party trays and platters,
including vegetables, cheeses, sausages, meatballs, and
shrimp to name a few. You can also order amazing party
sandwiches and salads. They even offer home delivery Monday
through Friday. With Mother’s Day coming up, I highly
recommend stopping by Freddie’s Market located at
